- I will have my luggage with me when I arrive in Pompeii. Where can I store it during the visit?
Once you arrive at the meeting point, you can store your luggage in the free official luggage room at the ticket counter. Our staff will give you all the information you need.
- I am going to Pompeii and Herculaneum: where can I park my car?
If you are visiting Pompeii by car, we recommend parking in one of the many private parking lots around the entrance area of Porta Marina Superiore. Contact us and we can give you tips on the best parking areas. In Herculaneum there is an unguarded municipal parking lot at an hourly rate in Via dei Papiri Ercolanesi, just a few steps from the ticket office of the ruins.
- How to get from Pompeii to Herculaneum?
Our tour includes a transfer with the local train line called Circumvesuviana. The one-way ticket from Pompeii to Herculaneum is included in the tour price. Your guide will always accompany you during this short train ride. If you use your own car, you can also reach Herculaneum on your own and meet the tour guide again at the ticket counter in Herculaneum.
- Can I take a break at the end of the visit to Pompeii before continuing to Herculaneum?
Of course. At the end of the visit to Pompeii, your guide will give you some free time to rest and refresh yourself before you leave for Herculaneum.
- Can I book by phone or e-mail and then pay on the day of the visit?
Unfortunately not. If you want to secure a place, you must book the tour in advance.
- What happens if the weather is bad and it rains on the day of the visit?
The Pompeii and Herculaneum tour regularly takes place even when it rains. We therefore recommend that you bring an umbrella or raincoat in case of rain. The tour will only be canceled if the authorities decide to close the site due to exceptional weather conditions.
- How do I get to Pompeii by public transportation?
If you are coming from Naples or Sorrento, you can reach Pompeii with the local train Circumvesuviana (Sorrento – Naples line). Your stop is called “Pompei Scavi – Villa dei Misteri” and the meeting point is just a few steps away. If you are coming from Salerno, you can take a Trenitalia train and stop at Pompei Centrale station. From there, it will take you about 20 minutes on foot to reach the meeting point. If you want to travel from Rome, take a high-speed train to Napoli Centrale, then the Circumvesuviana regional train line towards Sorrento and stop at the Pompei Scavi – Villa dei Misteri stop
- How much walking is involved?
This tour includes a walk through the western area of the archaeological park for about 3.5 km.
- Do you accept the Campania ArteCard for tickets?
No. As this tour includes all tickets, no tickets or passes other than the ones we provide you with directly can be used.
